A 39-year-old Montgomery  County man was convicted on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, for the rape and sexual assault of a girl in Bristol Township in 2015 .

Charles J. Sylvester, of King of Prussia, was found guilty by a Bucks County jury of rape of child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, and two counts of indecent assault after a three day trial at the Justice Center in Doylestown.

Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller revoked Sylvester’s bail and deferred his sentencing so the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board can recommend whether Sylvester meets the criteria to be declared a sexually violent predator after  the conviction was announced, a spokesperson from the Bucks County District Attorney’s office said.

The victim identified Sylvester as her attacker, telling police that he would sexually assault and rape her inside the home when she was between the ages of nine and 11.

The victim told Bristol Township Police that when the family lived in Bristol Township between 2015 and 2018  (the was between the ages of  six and nine years old) Sylvester would enter her room, pull his pants down and take her hand onto himself. She also explained that he would touch her vaginal area with his hand when she was about 10. Another incident she recalled was when he took her to his room, locked the door, yelled at her for disciplinary reasons and got on top of her. He undressed her and proceeded to have intercourse with her when she was under the age of nine, police wrote in court papers.

“This case is another example of this office’s commitment to identifying, arresting, and prosecuting those who prey on our most vulnerable victims,” said Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn
