Philly Man Charged by Amtrak Police for Stealing Copper from Bristol Twp Substation

Amtrak Police arrested and charged a Philadelphia man, accusing him of stealing copper from the companies  substation located in Bristol Township.

According to criminal filing, Amtrak Police were in the midst of conducting a theft investigation on April 22 at a substation also known as the ‘Grundy Subsation” which is located adjacent to Interstate 95. As part of the investigation, police installed cameras which were monitored.

While monitoring, Amtrak Police observed a white subject enter the property from the rear fence, while “trespassing”  in at the sub station, the suspect identified as Stephen Millar, of Philadelphia. removing a copper coil with specific identifying marks on it, court records show.

Millar was seen leaving the property via the camera installed. Police canvassed the area locating him with a coil in hand, according to court records.

The 46 year old man was arraigned by on-call District Judge Frank W. Peranteau and was sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $20,000.00

Millar was charged with theft, damage to railroad property, theft of a secondary metal and related offenses. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on May 24 in Bristol Township District Court.
