Police Extract Man from Burning Vehicle after Crash in Levittown

A driver in a single vehicle accident late Saturday night was extracted from the wreck by police while the front end was on fire in the Appletree section of Levittown.

The accident which took place around 11:45 last night on Appletree Drive in the Levittown section on Bristol Township shows a vehicle wrecked on the street after it appears to have hit a tree leaving the roadway and bouncing back on to the street.

The force of crash peeled away about three and half feet of bark from the tree and sent the vehicles battery flying about 20 feet from the initial impact

According to fire official from Levittown 2 Fire Company, officers from the Bristol Township Police Department extracted the trapped male driver, minutes after the wreck. Firefighters extinguished a small fire brewing in the engine block, officials said. 

Residents along the 100 block of Appletree Drive said they were under the impression police were chasing the driver, however, a review of online court documents show no arrests were recorded Saturday.

In the pictures sent into the publication you can see the vehicle driver sitting on the street speaking with a number of officers shirtless. He was transferred to a local medial facility for evaluation and released, a police source with knowledge of the accident. 

Bristol Township Police officials were not available for comment as of publication time.
