A U.S. Postal Spokesmen said late Saturday night that a “mechanical issue” is what’s believed to have caused the postal vehicle to go on fire. A final investigative determination will be made by the Postal Inspection Service.

A U.S Postal Service carrier vehicle was destroyed Saturday afternoon by fire, officials said.
Just before 12:30pm Levittown Fire Company No 2 responded to a report of a vehicle fire, on the 500 block of Fernwood Lane, Heddington section of Bristol Township.
Arriving units found a US Postal Service vehicle with engine compartment area engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire and all mail was removed by the carrier before fire departments arrival, officials said.
The vehicle was released to US Postal Inspectors after the fire was put out, said officials.
U.S Postal officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment Saturday as to the cause of reason for the fire.
