Bristol Township Police said told Lower Bucks Source Monday night the large police response to Washington Avenue in Croydon was due in large part to baseless claims to police.

Officers responded for an incident that was unsubstantiated, Lt Mark Titus said.

Titus did not reveal the type of incident reported to township police.

Judging from the rapid and large response the unfounded reports must of have been of a serious nature.

Bristol Twp Police officers ended up making an arrest for an unrelated incident at the Washington Ave address and charges are pending at this time, Titus said.

The incident had no connection to the arrests/investigation announced Tuesday of a THC drug ring operating out of a Bensalem wearhouse Bristol Twp police assisted with law enforcement sources told Lower Bucks Source late Tuesday night.

Original Story

At least seven Bristol Township police vehicles raced full speed up State Road into Croydon Monday night and took one man into custody; however, authorities remained mum on what prompted the heavy police presence.

Lights and sirens started to blare around 8:20 p.m. Monday, with police speedily traveling from Veterans Highway onto Route 413, making a quick right at Wawa, and racing up State Road to the 700 block of Washington Avenue.

At the end of business Tuesday, there were no arrests filed by township police in district court, nor were there any law enforcement officials from other agencies on scene to assist.

Bristol Township authorities declined this morning to respond to a Lower Bucks Source request for comment.
