A Bristol Township man wanted in multiple states by federal, state, and county authorities was arrested and charged because of an eagle-eyed Solebury Township Police officer on traffic enforcement detail Wednesday, authorities said.

Michael Garrison 40 of Bristol, was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility on outstanding arrest warrants from United States Marshals Service, Philadelphia Police, Montgomery Township, and Burlington County, NJ authorities Wednesday along with Michael Settle, 35 of Philadelphia also with active warrants from the Bucks County Sheriff’s office.

What turned out to be a chase and arrest story played out over a five-hours in Solebury Township on Wednesday, police said

Officer Gina Ferzetti was conducting traffic enforcement around Route 202 and Route 179 at approximately 9:45 am. During this enforcement period Officer Ferzetti observed an older model Ford pick-up truck with an expired Pennsylvania registration. Upon further investigation it was noted that the registered owner of the vehicle was wanted on numerous criminal arrest warrants, Solebury authorities said.

Ferzetti was preparing to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle when it suddenly turned into the north entrance/exit of the Logan Square Shopping Center. Police briefly lost sight of the Ford pick-up  locating it in the rear section of the shopping center unoccupied in short time.

Police said that the driver was an adult white male, and same with the front seat passenger.

Officer Ferzetti proceeded on foot patrol around the shopping center later locating the adult male passenger, identified as Settle walking near Village Row. He had an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriffs Office for burglary.

Officer Ferzetti continued with her pursuit and investigation showed that the operator of the pick-up truck, fled  the area on foot.  Solebury Police  conducted an extensive gird search of the area, initially coming up empty to take into custody Garrison the pick up truck driver.

A short time later  Officer Ferzetti was travelling in her marked patrol vehicle along Route 202 near the Fox Run Estates, when she observed an adult white male walking southbound along the northbound shoulder, said Police, who appeared to be the Garrison.

As Officer Ferzetti attempted to stop this Croydon man, he again fled across Route 202 onto Fox Tail Court.

A passing motorist witnessed this and advised officers of Garrison’s location in a wooded area.

A second extensive search of this area was conducted with help from Buckingham Township Police and Middletown Township Police Departments K-9 Officer.

Just after 2 p.m, the fleeing Garrison was located by police at which time the Garrison attempted to run further into the woods.

Police officer Anthony Viruet-Melendez captured the fleeing man and read him his rights.

As of Thursday morning no new charges were filed against either man, according to online court records.

Solebury Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
