Two men with a history of thievery stretching across Lower Bucks County were arrested and charged after Bucks County Sheriffs served arrest warrants at Falls Township home where one man was temporarily staying.
According to a criminal complaint filed late last month, on March 17, 2026, at approximately 10:34 a.m., Bucks County Sheriffs arrived at a residence in the Falls Township section of Morrisville to serve arrest warrants on Kevin Hoffner and Kenneth Benjamin. The Sheriffs made contact with Hoffner and Benjamin and took them into custody.
Hoffner, police said, asked for his EBT card from his 2021 white Ford truck bearing PA tag ZYLxxxx. The Sheriffs checked for the registered owner of the vehicle, and saw that the vehicle with was stolen out of Upper Merion Township, and the tag was stolen out of Morrisville Borough.
Sheriffs, also saw a vast amount of cut wire on the property, and in the shed of the property. Some of the wire was actively being burnt while they were on scene.
Detective John Vella knows from his experience that thieves who steal wire will bum off the rubber outer exterior exposing only the wire that they can sell later. At this time the Sheriffs called Falls Twp. Police. who arrived on scene shortly thereafter.
They made the same observations of the stolen vehicle and wire that was identified by the Sheriffs. They knew of previous listed arrests by Falls Twp. Police Department of Benjamin and Hoffner for stealing wire, court records show.
Det. Vella drafted a search warrant for the residence which was signed by Judge O’Neil. Investigators then went to the residence and executed the search warrant. Photographs were taken of the scene, and then collected the following:
- Black and yellow DEWALT tool bag of black and red MILWAUKEE tools from the truck
- Black HUSKEY tool box of tools from the truck
- Black and red MILWAUKEE saw from the truck’s passenger seat
- Hoffner’s debit card from the truck’s center console
- Four piles of burnt wire from the backyard
- Pile of multicolored wire from the backyard
- Trashcan of multicolored wire from the backyard
- Four electrical snips from the tool box from the shed
- Notebook of theft locations from the shed
- Three trashcans of multicolored wire from the shed
A Verizon employee arrived on scene and identified the wire on scene as belonging to the communications company . He estimated the damages to be approximately $10,000.00.
Det. Vella then spoke with the home owner, who reported the following in summary, according to court records:
The owner is friends with Benjamin and has allowed him to live at the residence. The owner is not friends with Hoffner, who does not live at the residence. Hoffner arrived on scene approximately one week ago with the stolen truck,. that she did not know was stolen. Hoffner has had the truck at her residence on and off during the past week. He has never spent the night at her residence.
Hoffner and Benjamin were arraigned on March 26 by John T. Galloway who set unsecured bail for both. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for May 20 on receiving stolen property charges in this case.
