Update: Reward Doubled for Info Leading to Suspect that Killed “Mikey the Cat at Pennwood Crossing, Reward Offered for Info on Shooter by Animal Cruelty Authorities

On Tuesday animal cruelty authorities announced the reward for information leading to the suspect who shot and killed “Mikey” the tuxedo outfitted feline has been doubled from $2500.00 to $5000.00

BCSPCA’s investigation continues in the case of Mikey the cat who was shot and killed on September 11. The reward offered in this case has been doubled thanks to a matching pledge from Joyce’s Voice for Cats, said SPCA spokeswoman Cindy Kelly.

As reported 13 days ago, at  approximately 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, a cat called Mikey was found dead in the B section of Pennwood Crossing Mobile Home Park. His body was still warm and bleeding. He was taken to a veterinary clinic where X-rays identified a projectile, said a Bucks SPCA spokesperson.

Animal cruelty is a crime in the Commonwealth is a chargeable offense up to felony levels. The intentional killing of any kind of cat will be met with serious charges, advocates say.

Cole “Junior” Shea is a young boy who lives with a severe form of Autism which makes communicating challenging for him.

Cole communicates with furry four legged types, like kittens and cats, in his own way. He tends to them; he cares for them and he responds to them.

Then last week Cole discovered one of his furry friends was shot and killed in the B section of Pennwood Crossing Mobile Home Park.

“It a shame that this 11 yr old autistic boy who feeds this colony had to find one of his kitties dead,” his grandmother, Deanna, said Tuesday.

Now the Bucks County SPCA is offering a reward seeking leads and tips to prosecute the unknown offender, officials said.

We are very sad to report that another cat has been shot and killed in Bucks County, SPCA officials said.

At approximately 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, a cat called Mikey was found dead in the B section of Pennwood Crossing Mobile Home Park. His body was still warm and bleeding. He was taken to a veterinary clinic where X-rays identified a projectile, said  a SPCA spokeswoman.

Mikey was a neutered tuxedo cat who was known to be friendly by those who manage a cat colony in the area. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to those who knew and loved Mikey, Bucks SPCA officials, said.

Bucks County SPCA is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved in the shooting.

Animal cruelty is a crime in Pennsylvania. Causing the death of a cat – house cat or feral cat – can be a felony offense.

BCSPCA investigates every tip received and has investigated similar cases every couple of years.

A 2023 shooting of 2 cats at Aspen Falls Apartments in Falls Township resulted in a felony conviction. BCSPCA rewarded a community member who provided video footage identifying the shooter.
