Cops: Delaware Co Man Charged with Check Kiting at Falls Dealership

Falls Township police are charging a Delaware County man with check kiting.

According to court documents, Robert Lee Pate, Jr, 38 of Collingdale, PA,  purchased a 2017 Chevy Impala from Fairless Motors last year.

Pate went into the dealership on October 23 obtained financing for the vehicle by presenting a check drawn on a Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union account for $600.00, court records show for a down payment.

The fiance manager for the dealership told Falls Police the check was returned for insufficient funds shortly thereafter, police say in court records.

Fairless Motors representatives sent Pate a letter requesting payment in November, and then called Pate, a number of times also.

Pate Jr. has not responded to attempts to resolve his debt and is being charged with one count of bad checks.

Pate Jr is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Vislosky on March 3 to answer to the charge.
