Tullytown Borough Police were dispatched to the Walmart on March 17 for a report of kayaks being stolen from their store. Arriving on scene, police met with an Asset Protection representative who was able to show me multiple incidents that recently occurred and statements with dollar amounts of the stolen merchandise.
Surveillance footage showed two males at Walmart on three different days allegedly taking kayaks out of the store without paying. The following alleged thefts are from footage:
On March 17 at 10:48 p.m., they allegedly stole a Lifetime blue kayak by breaking the safety securing strap off the fence and releasing the kayak without payment.
On March 24 at 3:42 a.m. one suspect was seen cutting the bolt lock off a kayak while the other male rode around the parking lot for what appeared to be a lookout. The subject released the kayak.
On March 28 at 3:51 a.m., Walmart surveillance showed the same unknown men from the previous thefts approaching the side of the store. Both men are seen on video, while the store was closed, cutting a hole in a fence to obtain two kayaks in a locked garden center. The two males both took a kayak and pulled it through the hole in the fence. In all three incidents, the suspects walked to the Kenwood section with unpaid merchandise.
Due to a Facebook listing of the missing kayaks, Walmart tracked their kayaks on March 13 at 4:29 a.m. to see the same unidentified male subjects cut the safety straps off the fence, releasing the kayaks and both subjects carrying one to the Kenwood area.
On April 4, 2025, police were contacted by an Asset Protection representative from Home Depot. Police were shown video footage of two grills recently stolen. The footage showed two unidentified males coming to the store and cutting the security cords off. They proceeded to the back of the store with merchandise, said police.
On March 30 at 05:15 a.m., two males were seen coming from behind Home Depot when they approach the front of the store. They began to cut the security locks with bolt cutters off two grills. Each subject grabbed a grill and proceeded to the Kenwood section with unpaid merchandise totaling $778.00 for the two items. Both grills were listed on Facebook Marketplace and marked as sold, according to the investigation on Facebook Marketplace listings.
On April 4, video shows the two males coming from behind the store when they approached the front of the store. The two men began to cut the security locks with bolt cutters off the tractor. Both subjects took the tractor and fled on foot into the Kenwood section with unpaid merchandise totaling $2,149.00 for the tractor.
Walmart employees and police searched Facebook Marketplace for stolen merchandise being sold in a close radius of the store. All the missing kayaks were sold by the same marketplace seller. The seller was later identified as a co-conspirator who now has an arrest warrant for selling stolen property, according to court records.
All the missing kayaks were listed as sold on the seller’s Facebook marketplace. Officer Cochran also saw the two missing Home Depot grills. They were also listed and sold. One of the alleged male thieves was identified through Facebook as Nickolas Irons, 28 of Levittown, according to the probable cause
On April 19, Falls Township Police came to Irons’ residence due to thefts in their jurisdiction and spoke with him. Irons admitted to all thefts in Tullytown and Falls. Officers then spoke with Irons and he, on bodycam, again admitted to thefts from Walmart and Home Depot. Irons stated that the rest of the stolen merchandise was already sold on Facebook Marketplace except for the lawnmower that Officer Difrank recovered and returned, police said in the affidavit.
Last week Irons waived his right to a preliminary hearing through his attorney Keith J. Williams, Esq., according to online court records.
The male and female co-conspirators have yet to be taken into custody. Arrest warrants for each were issued last month.
Irons will be formally arraigned in July at the Court of Common Pleas.
