Prosecutors Drop Stalking Charge Against Levittown Man, Heads to Trial on Lesser Charges

At a preliminary hearing a Levittown man with a history of violence against women had the most serious charge he was facing withdrawn by Bucks County prosecutors.

Elmer Puccio, 44, appeared before District Judge John Galloway for a scheduled preliminary hearing on Wednesday with his attorney Donald Bermudez, Esq.

Before the hearing started the attorney from the Bucks County District Attorney’s office announced his office was withdrawing the top count of felony stalking from the case. Shortly thereafter, Puccio’s attorney said, Puccio was waiving his rights to have a preliminary hearing  held and the case will now to trial on the lesser charges of defiant trespass and harassment, both misdemeanors.

Puccio was jailed on July 18 accused of stalking, defiant trespass and harassment, despite a Bucks County Judge’s order, connected to a robbery at the same Levittown address. He is currently under supervision by the county parole department on that case which includes no contact orders with the victims in both incidents.

Puccio remains in jail where he’s been since the July arrest. His next court date is November 8 for formal arraignment in Doylestown at the Justice Center.
