According to an arrest warrant filed on in July, 2024, Saturday afternoon, a passing motorist flagged down a Falls Township officer asking for a wellness check on a person in the Fairless Hills Self Storage parking lot on South Oxford Valley Road. The officer positioned his fully marked patrol vehicle behind a blue Mitsubishi hatch back displaying no registration. Karen Stevens-Nunez, was sitting outside by the opened front driver’s side door. Nunez then stood up and reached into the front driver’s compartment pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, turned to face the officer and pointed the gun towards him. In fear for his safety, he put his vehicle in drive and went around Nunez and her vehicle on the passenger side. The officer created distance and gave orders over his vehicle’s loud speaker for her to drop the weapon, according to the probable cause. She then got back into her vehicle and fled the area. She was arrested days later by Trenton Police.
