Tractor Trailer Hauling Garbage Overturns in Falls

A tractor trailer carrying garbage overturned on Tyburn Road in Falls Township Wednesday morning.

The incident, police say, occurred at 9:27 a.m. as the tractor attempted to turn onto New Ford Mill Road.

As a result of the accident, the garbage was strewn onto both roadways, oil leaked from the vehicle, and a fire hydrant was knocked off its base, Falls Twp Police said.

“The preliminary investigation determined the driver was driving too fast for conditions, causing the vehicle to overturn,” said Lt Chris Clark.

Additionally, the driver was not properly licensed, and the vehicle lacked proper registration and inspection. A full vehicle inspection of the tractor trailer will occur this week, Clark added.

No injuries were reported, police said.
