A 39-year-old Trenton man is now wanted by Falls Township Police after an early Sunday morning chase in which police say the suspect driving a BMW topped speeds of 160 mph and assaulted an officer.
According to the arrest warrant, on Sunday August 3, 2025 at approximately 1:03 a.m., while on patrol near the Wawa on West Trenton Ave in Morrisville, a Royal Blue BMW 335 with a temporary NJ registration F103579 was sitting in one of Wawa’s parking spots. Police ran the tag through the system and the returned result was for a Ford F-650. Bucks County Radio and other units were notified and backup was requested at Wawa. The vehicle was very heavily tinted, including the windshield obstructing the police’s view to the inside of the vehicle.
Units were staged around the Wawa and police waited for the vehicle to leave the parking lot. We were also waiting for someone to come out of the Wawa and get into the vehicle. After a short time, no one came out of the Wawa and we did not see anyone get into the vehicle. A police officer pulled the patrol vehicle into an adjacent parking spot to check the VIN on the vehicle. As the officer approached the vehicle from the driver’s side, the window rolled down. A heavy-set male, weighing approximately 300 lbs., with a mustache and beard, wearing dark t-shirt with black pants and also wearing a skully was sitting in the driver’s seat with marijuana on his stomach and a cigar stuffed with marijuana in his hand. A male passenger wore a blue sweatshirt and black pants. The passenger had an eye injury and could not open it all the way. Police opened the vehicle’s door and ordered the driver out of the vehicle. At this time, he had already violated several laws regarding driving an unregistered vehicle, window tinting, and possession of a small amount of marijuana, said police.
The driver was not obeying verbal police commands to exit the vehicle and kept asking why he was being stopped. The suspect was advised several times that the tag on his vehicle was a Ford and not a BMW. He was also informed that he had marijuana in the vehicle and needed to exit, because police ordered him out. A second officer arrived on scene and with the assistance of the other officer, the driver was ordered out again. However, the driver still did not obey the commands, according to the arrest warrant.
The passenger wasn’t saying anything, but he started to reach his hand toward the floorboard, so police ordered him to stop moving. The driver was ordered out of the vehicle again and when he still did not comply, police grabbed his left arm and started pulling him out. The officer lost his grip when the suspect yanked his arm away. The backup officer then grabbed the suspect’s arm and attempted to pull him out, but the suspect again yanked his arm away, said in probable cause.
Police said they observed the driver start reaching for the push-start button on the dash and instructed him not to start the car. Police pulled out a Taser and commanded the suspect to exit the vehicle, but again he did not comply.

The driver then hit the start button and the vehicle started up. Police deployed the Taser and the probe struck the male in the chest. The Taser stunned the suspect, but he then put the vehicle in reverse and stepped on the gas. The vehicle left the parking spot at high speed, while an officer was still in the door frame, between the door and the car. The vehicle lunged backwards and the door struck the officer, pushing him back. The hit officer stayed on his feet before the suspect’s vehicle reversed into one of the patrol vehicles. The BMW then fled the Wawa parking lot onto Route 13 southbound at high speed. The driver had no regard for police or public safety, police said.
BCR was notified that the vehicle hit an officer trying to run him over and also struck a patrol vehicle. A corporal was in the parking lot and pursued the vehicle. The vehicle drove on Rt 13 and entered Rt 1 northbound. The corporal continued to pursue the vehicle while a Lower Makefield vehicle joined the pursuit. Lower Makefield police continued in the pursuit as both police forces entered New Jersey. The pursuit continued down Route 1 North until speeds hit 160 mph. A corporal instructed Pennsylvania police to end the pursuit and return to PA. The defendant was later identified as Shawn Wolfe using the Investigative Police Database tool, according to the warrant.
