Falls Township Police are asking for any help the public can provide to locate a two-time convicted New Jersey felon and get him off the streets before he seriously hurts someone.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for Leon Corbin, 47, of Ewing New Jersey, on two felony firearm counts. and related offenses for an October 2023 incident at the Red Raven Bar.
Falls Township Police responded to the bar on October 13, U.S. Route 1 {Lincoln Highway) in Fairless Hills for a report of gunfire in the parking lot. Witnesses said, four males (identified as one black, one white and two Hispanics) entered the bar at approximately 11:00 p.m. The black male was later identified as Leon M. Corbin, authorities said.
The group of men sat together at a corner of the bar near the left side door. After approximately 10-15 minutes, all four lit cigarettes. The bar bouncer told them there was no smoking inside the business, so they went outside to finish their cigarettes, police said in court papers.
Later, one of the Hispanic males lit another cigarette inside the bar. The bouncer said “No fumar” (Spanish for no smoking), thinking the man did not understand English. At that point, Corbin became upset and felt the bouncer was being disrespectful towards his friend. The bouncer did his best to diffuse the situation, but Corbin became increasingly aggressive, according to police.
Eventually, the bouncer escorted Corbin out of the bar. The white male and one of the Hispanic males also walked outside. Corbin then made threats that he was going to shoot the bouncer and was reaching towards the area of his waistband. The bouncer went back inside the bar, then heard gunshots in the parking lot, according to the probable cause.
Police reviewed video surveillance of the incident.
The video showed after the bouncer walked back into the bar, Corbin removed a handgun from his pocket or waistband, then fired six shots into the air, the criminal complaint alleges.
Earlier, the bouncer found five shell casings, and the police took a pause from the video, and found the sixth shell casing, court records show. Resuming the video, it continued to show Corbin entering his white Ford pickup truck, making a left out of the parking lot, and traveling south on Lincoln Highway. The other three males walked to the edge of the parking lot. A brief time later, the white pickup truck, traveling north, stopped so that the three could enter the truck. The four of them then drove from the area in the truck, police said.
Corbin has been arrested nine times in New Jersey, the most recent was May of 2017, police say.
The Lawrence Twp Police Department arrested Corbin on July 25, 1996, and the result was a felony conviction for manufacturing/distributing a controlled substance. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s office arrested him on May 28, 1998, and he was convicted of a felony for having a controlled substance on school property. Corbin does not have a valid concealed carry permit, police said.
