A Bristol man walked into AAA to renew his license and is now charged with felonies of child pornography.

In April, a Bristol man allegedly possessed images depicting a child under the age of 18 years engaging in a sexual act on his cellular telephone, said police.

An investigation into charges of child pornography was launched after an AAA employee spoke to a Falls Township Police officer. In the employee’s statement to police, the offense occurred on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the AAA located on North Oxford Valley Road, Langhorne.  The statement provided to the police said, on Thursday, the accused suspect, Francis X. Danis, 57,  came to the employee’s counter to renew his vehicle registration. Danis’ insurance information was on his phone which he opened the file and gave to the employee, according to the probable cause document.

The employee attempted to maximize the insurance information on Danis’s cellular telephone but accidentally closed out the insurance image. At this point, the employee observed roughly five photographs of nude girls between the ages of what he believed were approximately seven and nine. The images displayed the girls tied up wearing leather. The employee observed these images for roughly three seconds and pulled the insurance information back up. The employee then closed out the insurance information for a second time and observed the same images a second time before handing the phone back to Danis, shown in the criminal complaint.

A search warrant was obtained for Danis’ cell phone. On Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at approximately 1:40 p.m., Danis’ cell phone was confiscated by police and a forensic download was performed on the phone. The forensic download showed videos of child pornography on Danis’ cell phone.

Danis was arraigned, Thursday, May 23, 2024, on two felony counts, Child Pornography and Criminal Use Of Communication Facility. Unable to post 10% of $100,000 bail, he was remanded to county jail at that time. Two days later, he posted his bail.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16. 2024, according to court records.
