N.J. Man Charged with Aggravated Assault of First Responder

A New Jersey man was charged earlier this week for attacking a paramedic at Jefferson Bucks Hospital when asked to to put on a mask.

According to police the on Monday, February 21st, officers responded to Jefferson Bucks Hospital, Langhorne for a report of a male who assaulted a paramedic.

Police charged Jeffrey Choi, 42, of Ft. Lee, New Jersey after the paramedic identified him as the male who grabbed his throat after refusing to put on a mask.

Another medic and additional staff at the hospital were able to secure Mr. Choi prior to police arrival.  Police arrived on scene and took Mr. Choi into custody.   He was arraigned before Judge Wertman and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10% of $100,000 bail.

Choi’s  bail was reduced after a hearing on Friday, to 10 percent of $30,000.

He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 8 in front of District Judge Jan Vislosky.
