A 23 year-old Levittown man barricaded in a Falls Township Hotel room safely surrendered to police on Tuesday after threatening to die by suicide.

According to Falls Township Police Lt. Nelson Whitney a mental health professional concerned for the well being of a patient called authorities at 11:40  a.m  reporting that a client they care for was threatening to die by suicide at the Red Roof Inn Hotel located at 3100 Cabot Boulevard, in the Langhorne section of the township.

The therapist, according to police, said the young man, identified as Blaize Foley was armed and would fire on anyone attempting to approach the door of the room.

The Bucks County South Emergency Response Team was activated with responding officers sealing  off the area to traffic and the public.

The despondent man surrendered peacefully, after successful negotiations with crisis negotiators and the mental health health professional three hours later.

Foley was taken to a local medical facility for evaluation, law enforcement sources said.

Whitney thanked surrounding area police departments – Bensalem, Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Lower Makefield, Middletown, and Morrisville – for their assistance.  He also thanked first responders from The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, Falls Township Fire Marshal’s Office, and the fire police from the Fairless Hills  and Falls Township Fire Companies.
