A 47 year-old Trenton man with outstanding warrants in two jurisdictions was taken into custody by Falls Township Police for theft related offenses on Wednesday.

According to police, and officer on patrol in the parking lot of Home Depot of Fairless Hills was advised by store security that a man attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise and abandoned his shopping cart when confronted, last week.

The officer on patrol, observed the man later identified as Wilfredo Echevaria ,57 of Trenton who refused his to listen to his commands to stop and fleeing on foot, said police.

Echevaria was apprehended a short time later, but resisted arrest as police took him into custody. The suspect provided a fake name to police at first, said authorities, but Home Depot Loss Prevention identified him as a suspect in a prior retail theft in April, according to authorities.

Court records revealed Echevaria had two outstanding warrants in two separate jurisdictions; Philadelphia and Hudson County, New Jersey.

He is currently being held at the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility in Philadelphia. According to online court records Echevaria is awaiting an extradition hearing scheduled for July 14 at the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.

In Bucks County he faces charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, false identification and resisting arrest.
