Update: Man Found Dead in Delaware Canal in Falls Twp Identified

Bucks County authorities have identified the man found in ankle deep water in the Delaware Canal Saturday as Robert Kowalski.

He was discovered along the canal path near the 8000 block of Woodside Drive in Falls Township after a local came across his body on Saturday evening, (Nov 15), authorities said.

The Bucks County Coroner’s office performed an autopsy Monday, however those results are pending so cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.

The State Police Trevose Criminal Investigation Unit is leading the investigation  with assistance from the Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Falls Township Police Department, and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body on Saturday evening in the area of the Delaware Canal Path by Pennwood Crossing in the Morrisville section of Falls Township.

Sources are saying the body was discovered around 7 p.m. but that information was apparently incorrect due to photos this news organization received Sunday morning. These photos show troopers and staff from the Bucks County Coroner’s office on scene during daylight hours.

A man identifying himself as Zach Barlow commented on the Lower Bucks Source Meta page saying he discovered the body while describing the person as a black male.

Two tipsters from message exchanges on social media networks told us the deceased man was floating in the canal.

First responder sources who asked to remain anonymous because they are not authorized to speak about the investigation said that authorities think the deceased man was homeless. The county coroner is trying to track down official records to confirm his identity and his name was not released by authorities as a result.

State Police did not respond to requests for comment/information early Sunday morning.
