Mahiri Jamal Carter was taken into custody and arraigned on the charges noted below on May 3. Carter was released on unsecured bail pending a June 3 court date.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 22-year-old Levittown man who fled the scene of an accident last month, where at least one motorist was treated for injuries.
Falls Township Police issued an arrest warrant for Mahiri Carter, 22 of Levittown on a singular felony count of causing an accident involving death or injury while not licensed and and five related summary offenses.
Falls Township Police were dispatched to Route 1 North just past the Route 13 overpass for a hit-and-run accident with injuries on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at approximately 3:48 p.m., police said.
Police arrived on scene with paramedics from Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad who immediately began treating the front seat passenger. The officer spoke with the operator who said he was traveling northbound in the right lane when he observed in his mirrors, a dark colored SUV driving all over the place approaching from behind. The SUV came up along his right side and suddenly struck his right passenger’s side door and front quarter panel, of his black Toyota CHR. When asked what lane the SUV was in, the driver pointed to the right shoulder, according to the arrest warrant.
Approximately one mile north of the accident, police were dispatched for a dark blue SUV disabled in the right lane. Responding officers described the vehicle as a blue Honda Element bearing a Pennsylvania registration with two damaged driver’s side tires and heavy damage to the left side of the vehicle. The vehicle, operated by Carter, matched the description of the striking vehicle and had corresponding damage. Carter told responding officers he was in accident but continued north until the vehicle became disabled, police said.
After striking the Toyota, Carter, continued driving north without attempting to stop or acknowledge the accident. Carter failed to provide required insurance and contact information. Lastly, Carter made no attempt to check on the well–being of the Toyota’s occupants, and did not attempt to return to the accident scene, police wrote in the probable cause.
Carter currently has a warrant for his arrest.
