Just In: “Random Drive By Shooting” Reported by Middletown Family

A Middletown family is recovering from the shock of having shots fired “randomly” at their Maple Avenue home, according to a social media post.

The drive by shooting took place around 9:30 pm Wednesday night, and “thankfully no one was injured the post reads, but three young teenage girls were in the home when the shots rang out, according to the post.

Three shell casings were recovered by Middletown Police.

The poster, who is the father of the girls and lives in the home said, one daughter saw muzzle flashes from the weapon when bullets were fired.

“We have no known enemies and have zero reason to believe we were targeted” the father said in the post.

“It’s a bad world out there” he said “don’t take a day or moment for granted” he said, then thanked Middletown Police “for all their efforts and assistance.”

A police official on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media, said police are investigating and hope to obtain video footage of the vehicle driving on Maple Ave.

Middletown Police have yet to comment publicly on the alleged drive-by shooting as of Friday morning.
