A duo from the New York City area were arrested and charged last week accused of attempting to commit identity theft and other related offenses on April 1 at a Lower Makefield bank.

According to Lower Makefield Police, around 1:30 p.m. Maolong Li, 54 of Flushing and Tammy Saikun Lee, 31 of Brooklyn, walked into to the Citizens Bank, 700 block, Stony Hill Road, attempting to commit fraud, the bank manager told police.

The investigation revealed the male was attempting to access others’ business accounts using a fake ID. The female was working as a translator with a fake state ID as well.

Lee told police, for some unknown reason, they might find crystal meth in the vehicle they were operating. Police seized the vehicle and requested a search warrant.

They were charged with identity theft, forgery, access device fraud and conspiracy. They were arraigned by Judge Daniel  Baranowski. Lee was sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF) in lieu of 10%/$75,000 bail and posted it on April 2. Li was sent to BCCF in lieu of 10%/$150,000 bail where he remains. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 9.
