Middletown Man Who Barricaded Himself in July, Pointed Gun at Police

A Middletown man with an undisclosed but very apparent mental health issue who barricaded himself for hours in his parents’ home in July and raised a 9mm Glock handgun aiming at police officers has been charged with felony terroristic threats and related misdemeanors, according to court records.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Middletown Township Police Officer Wagner responded to Harbor Road in Levittown to meet with complainants, Maureen Bonfiglio-Mee and Michael Mee, regarding their son, Shaun. The parents reported that Shaun had locked himself in his bedroom, was possibly armed with a firearm, and shouted that someone else had a gun, says the probable cause.

On arrival, police entered the residence, and gave loud verbal commands for Shaun  to exit the bedroom with his hands in the air. Shaun responded “Get the f**k back” and continued to ramble incoherently for several minutes. During this time, Shaun stated that he owned multiple firearms, including a Glock 26 handgun loaded with 9mm ammunition and a 10 round magazine. He was then heard racking the firearm as if chambering a round to shoot. For safety reasons, police exited the residence, according to court records.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the man’s father  requested Officer Dan Heyduk accompany him to the front door of the residence to close it. As they approached, Officer Heyduk observed Shaun sitting on a couch in the living room. Heyduk announced his presence, at which point Shaun shouted “Get the f**k out, you’re dead”. Heyduk and Michael Mee immediately retreated to cover. Over the course of the next hour, Shaun exited the house multiple times, yelling at officers on scene.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., Shaun exited the residence armed with a loaded Glock 26 9mm handgun and allegedly raised the firearm in the direction of officers on two separate occasions and demanded that police shoot him. Despite initial noncompliance, he ultimately complied with repeated verbal commands and dropped the firearm to the ground. He was then taken into custody without further incident and was subsequently taken to a behavioral  health facility for treatment, police said in a social media release.

The Levittown man, according to online court records, is represented by Schatz & Stancu LLP who will  be on hand for his November court appearance.
