Former Neshaminy Kids Club Employee Admits To Abusing 7 Children in Plea

A 41-year-old Bristol Township man accused of sexually assaulting  boys that happened almost two decades ago while he worked as an employee at the after-school program Neshaminy Kids Club entered guilty pleas last month for assaulting seven victims.

Gerald William Spoto, 42 entered the pleas to multiple felony charges in a court appearance late last month  before Bucks County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Finley, according to online court records.

Finley deferred  sentencing for 90 days so Spoto could be assessed  to determine if he is a sexually violent predator, which requires a lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Spoto was charged late last year subsequent to an investigation by the Middletown Township Police Department.

That investigation found that he sexually assaulted four boys almost two decades ago while he worked as an employee at the Neshaminy Kids Club after-school program. Three other victims came forward after the initial charges.

Victims encountered Spoto through his job with an after-school program, Neshaminy Kids Club.  In some cases, the parents had hired Spoto to babysit their children.

The charges were filed after two Middletown Township detectives re-analyzed two inactive reports of sexual assault of juveniles filed in 2013 and 2017. The reports had different victims, but the target of both victims was Gerald Spoto, who lived in Middletown Township at the time of the assaults.

The reopening of those reports began last week and led to the discovery of additional victims.

One victim reported approximately 50 sexual encounters with Spoto between 2000 to 2003 when the victim was nine to 11 years old.
