A 20-year old Lansdale woman has been charged with aggravated assault and related offenses after she attacked a friend with a knife and tire jack device outside of a Morrisville apartment complex late last month.
Faith G. Bush was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Kevin P. Wagner on the charges and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility. She spent one day in custody and was released subsequent to her bail being reduced to unsecured.
According to the criminal complaint, Morrisville Borough Police were dispatched Sunday, Sept. 27 at just after 12 p.m. to Colonial Gardens Apartments, 490 Plaza Blvd., outside of “G” building for a domestic disturbance report.
The complainant related that she saw a suspect outside of a blue sedan banging on the window with some type of object, possibly a weapon. She stated the suspect appeared to be yelling at a female.
Police received multiple calls stating that the suspect—possibly a masculine-looking female—was wielding a knife and still yelling at the victim.
One caller reported the suspect, wearing grey sweatpants and a grey sweatshirt, was attacking a female.
Cpl. Lew Halas arrived on scene first and observed the subject—later identified as defendant Faith Bush—holding a knife in one hand and a car jack stand in the other. Halas issued several commands for Bush to drop the weapons, noting she had a “blank stare.” Bush eventually complied and dropped both items. Cpl. Halas separated the victim from Bush and inquired about injuries just as a second call was dispatched reporting a stabbing involving the two.
Officer Michelle Williamson arrived on scene and observed the knife and car jack on the ground. She secured the knife, which had a brown handle and black blade, in her patrol vehicle, the criminal complaint alleges.
Halas asked both females if they had been stabbed, and they said no.
Williamson took the victim aside and asked what happened. She stated she and Bush came to the apartment complex in her vehicle to talk. Neither female lives in the complex. She said they began arguing after Bush confronted her about something and then began striking her.
Williamson asked her when did Bush take out the knife, and she stated she wasn’t sure because she was crying so hard.
Williamson observed red marks on the victim’s face, on her nose and cheek area, and asked if Bush hit her in the face. She said the red marks were from her crying.
Williamson asked her if she was injured anywhere, and when she put her hands out, Williamson observed a 1-inch laceration on her right palm that looked fresh. Williamson asked if that was from the knife, and she said she wasn’t sure.
An ambulance was called to check out the victim’s injuries. Williamson asked the victim where the tire jack came from and she stated she didn’t know.
Halas detained Bush and placed her in the rear of his marked patrol vehicle following a brief discussion with her.
Halas relayed to Williamson that Bush told him that she found out the victim was lying to her and she confronted her. This led to an argument and ultimately a physical attack.
They were parked in the lot of the apartment complex in the victim’s vehicle. After confronting the victim, Bush told Halas that she attacked her and began to hit her while inside the car, police noted in court records.
Bush said she got out of the vehicle, took the car jack out, and began hitting the victim’s vehicle with it, causing damage to the doors and frame and shattering the driver’s side window.
She, according to police, then took out a pocket knife and began swinging it at the victim and hitting the vehicle with it.
According to the probable cause, the knife had a 4-inch blade.
Bush said she was unaware that she cut the victim’s hand, police said.
When asked about the knife, Bush said she went at the victim with it and was unsure if she actually hit her with it, according to court records.
Bush claimed she was not injured and claimed she was the only one fighting. She said she was striking the victim with what she described as an open hand while inside the car. The vehicle is a 2023 Honda sedan bearing a PA registration and owned by the victim’s mother.
Bush was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.
Bush is due back in court on Oct. 6 to answer to the charges and has no attorney of record listed according to online court records.
