NJ Sex Offender Convicted by Bucks Jury of Indecent Assault of 10 Year-Old Morrisville Girl

A New Jersey sex offender was convicted by a Bucks County Jury of indecent assault of a Morrisville Borough 10 year-old girl Wednesday.

Derrick Wyche 58 of Newark 58, of Newark, New Jersey, was found guilty on Dec. 3, 2025, on felony counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and corruption of minors, authorities said.

Morrisville Borough Police, last October, met with the victim and her mother at police headquarters. The child told Officer Amanda DeLuca, on September 9, Wyche  took her hand and placed it inside his pants/underwear, the probable cause says.

Wyche had left his cellphone at a venue of a family event that evening and was unable to retrieve it because it had closed for the evening. The mother of the victim told Wyche he could stay the night so he could easily retrieve his cell phone the following  morning, police said.

In November, a forensic interview was conducted at the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center in which the child disclosed the incident happened on the couch in the basement where she was laying down trying to fall asleep. Wyche sat down on the couch next to her and put a blanket on top of himself. The child victim told investigators he took her hand, placed it in his pants on his penis and that he tried to make her grab and squeeze it and it felt sticky. The child victim told investigators, Wyche was making noises and breathing heavily. Wyche pushed her hand away when he heard someone coming down the stairs to the basement, police said in the criminal complaint.

Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller  deferred sentencing to a future date.
