Newtown Township Police Reports – March 19 2026 – March 26 2026
3/20/26
At approximately 5:30 pm police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Rita’s Water Ice on Swamp Road after receiving a VIPR notification on the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bensalem Police Department and transferred without incident.
3/21/26
At approximately 1:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Mustang operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and State Street. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
At approximately 3:30 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.
3/22/26
At approximately 8:00 pm police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township residence for the report of a theft, not in progress. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
3/23/26
At approximately 1:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Mercedes Benz operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Windy Bush Road and Skoures Lane. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
3/24/26
At approximately 11:15 am a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report the theft of a trash bin. A report was made to document the incident.
At approximately 1:15 pm police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of an assault. As a result of the investigation, one subject was taken into custody and charged with Simple Assault and Harassment.
3/25/26
At approximately 8:45 pm a theft from a storage unit in Wrightstown Township was reported. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
At approximately 11:35 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham Road and South Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
3/26/26
At approximately 8:00 pm police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of an assault. As a result of the investigation, one subject was charged with Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct.
At approximately 8:15 pm police conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of Swamp Road and Twining Bridge Road. As a result, the pedestrian was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department and transferred without incident.
