Newtown Township Police Reports – Nov 27, 2024 to Dec 10, 2024

11/27/24 – Police were dispatched to Acme Markets around 4:45 pm for the report of a retail theft that occurred on November 5th. The total value lost was $687.76.

11/28/24 – During the Bucks County DUI Task Force’s roving DUI detail along Street Road in Bensalem, an officer from our Department conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a DUI arrest. Suspected narcotics were also discovered and seized as evidence.

11/3024 – At approximately 12:00 pm police were dispatched to a Newtown Township restaurant for a theft of used oil report. The investigation is ongoing.

12/1/24 – At approximately 2:50 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Impala operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of North Drive and Durham Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.

12/1/24 – At approximately 7:30 am police were dispatched to the area of Swamp Road and Hickory Lane for the report of a one-vehicle traffic accident.  Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

12/6/24 – At approximately 1:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Buick SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

12/10/24 – The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 29 trucks were stopped and inspected. 3 trucks were placed out of service, and 6 citations and 8 warnings were issued for violations that were found.

12/10/24 – At approximately 2:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Civic operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Twining Bridge Road. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Bucks County Adult Probation and transferred without incident.
