Newtown Twp. Police Reports –  May 1 2026 – May 7 2026 

 

5/2/26
At approximately 2:05 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F250 pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results. 

5/3/26
At approximately 8:15 pm police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township neighborhood for the report of a disorderly male. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.  

5/4/26
During the morning hours, CRHS North received a threat at the school. In an abundance of caution, the school was placed on lockdown, and first responders completed a sweep of the building, resulting in no credible threats identified. The lockdown was then lifted.  Similar calls affected several school districts in the area, including Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Delaware counties, as well as Philadelphia. Some reports indicate that swatting calls were made nationwide. Many districts implemented lockdowns in the interest of safety. The incident remains under investigation in collaboration with the FBI. 

5/5/26 
At approximately 3:00 pm a Wrightstown Township resident contacted police to report fraudulent transactions on his credit card. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact his banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to further monitor his accounts. 

At approximately 8:30 pm police were contacted regarding the theft of a wallet that occurred in Newtown Township and subsequent fraudulent purchases. The incident was referred to the Detective Division.  

5/7/26 
At approximately 2:00 pm a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report fraudulent transactions on her credit cards. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact her banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to further monitor her accounts. 

At approximately 4:00 pm police were dispatched to Acme Markets on West Road for the report of a retail theft. As a result of the investigation, one female subject was identified and cited for retail theft.
