Newtown Township Police Reports – Nov 26 2025 – Dec 4 2025
11/26/25
At approximately 12:30 pm Newtown Township Police officers on patrol observed suspicious activity outside the Truist Bank on Campus Drive. Further investigation revealed a fraud in progress inside the bank, while the vehicle involved had already fled the scene. Officers immediately broadcast a description of the vehicle over police radio. A short time later, the vehicle was located at the Wawa on Lower Silver Lake Road. As officers attempted to make contact with the occupants at the Wawa, the driver rammed a Newtown Township Police vehicle in an attempt to flee. When the attempt was unsuccessful, all occupants fled on foot into the wooded area across the street. Officers from across Bucks County responded to assist in the search, including Warrington Township, Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Makefield Township, Solebury Township, Middletown Township, Bucks County Park Police, Yardley Borough, Lower Southampton Township, and Newtown Borough Police Departments. These departments also assisted with K9 searches and drone operations. As a result of the coordinated search, three subjects were taken into custody and were charged accordingly. No injuries were reported to any officers or subjects during this incident. The individuals taken into custody are facing a combination of eight (8) felony charges.
While operating with the Bucks County DUI Task Force in Bensalem Township at approximately 11:05 pm, a Newtown Township police officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Trevose Road and Dogwood Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
11/29/25
At approximately 1:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a gold GMC pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
At approximately 4:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on a BMW operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
11/30/25
At approximately 2:15 police conducted a traffic stop on a GMC operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
At approximately 5:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Pontiac operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
12/4/25
At approximately 12:15 pm, police were contacted in regards to a stolen package from a Newtown Township residence. The total value of loss was $103.
