Newtown Twp. Police Reports: Fraud Involving Large Cash Transfers From Individual and More

Newtown Twp. Police Reports – Jan 3, 2025 – Jan 16, 2025

1/3/25 – Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 6:15 pm for the report of packages stolen from the front porch. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

1/6/25 – A Wrightstown Township business contacted police shortly after noon to report a fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

1/8/25 – Police were dispatched to McCaffrey’s Food Markets at 3:25 pm for the report of a retail theft, not in progress. It was reported that the theft occurred on January 4th, 2025, involving two female subjects. The total value of loss was $382.43.

1/9/25 – At 4:45 pm a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a fraud involving large transfers from their bank account. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

1/9/25 – At approximately 8:40 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Grand Cherokee operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Burns Lane and Merion Drive. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

1/14/25 – At approximately 11:20 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Impala operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Penns Trail. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
