Newtown Twp. Police Reports: Take Out Order Takes on New Meaning, Vehicle Crashes into Restaurant and More!

Newtown Twp. Police Reports – April 4 2025 – April 16 2025

4/4/25 – At approximately 3:15 pm a Wrightstown Township resident contacted police to report a scam. She received an email from someone impersonating the Bucks County Planning Commission, requesting $5,000. She recognized it as a scam and did not suffer a monetary loss. The Bucks County Planning Commission verified that the email was fraudulent, and a police report was made to document the incident.

4/4/25 – At approximately 3:30 pm a Wrightstown Township resident responded to headquarters to report a wire fraud. His bank account was hacked and closed as a result, and a police report was made to document the incident.

4/5/25 – At approximately 11:50 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Sycamore Street and Swamp Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

4/8/25 = Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 10:00 am in reference to several fraudulent purchases on the resident’s credit card. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

4/9/25 – Shortly before 10:30 am, police were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic accident into the Dragon of Newtown restaurant on Swamp Road. There was extensive property damage, but the business was closed at the time and there were no reported injuries to the driver or any persons in the vicinity.

4/9/25 – At approximately 9:30 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. As a result of the investigation, a small amount of suspected narcotics were discovered and seized as evidence, and the operator was cited.

4/10/25 – At approximately 12:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on a KIA SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham and Valley View Way. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

4/10/25 – At approximately 8:45 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a KIA SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and State Street. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

4/11/25 – At approximately 2:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Lexus operator in the area of Meridian Circle after receiving information from the Middletown Township Police Department regarding the occupants’ involvement in a robbery/PFA violation that occurred in their jurisdiction. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence, and the operator and passenger were taken into custody without incident.

4/14/25 – At approximately 4:00 pm police were dispatched to a local business for a counterfeit incident in progress. As a result of the investigation, a male subject was taken into custody for using counterfeit bills at several local businesses in Newtown Township and surrounding areas. The male was processed and arraigned by MDJ Baranowski, and bail was set at 10% of $250,000.

4/15/25 – At approximately 5:30 pm police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty on South Eagle Road for the report of a retail theft that occurred on April 13th. The total value of loss was $2,016.
