Newtown Twp. Police Reports –  May 8 2026 – May 14 2026 

5/8/26
At approximately 8:15 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Tacoma operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Penns Trail. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

5/11/26
At approximately 7:00 pm, a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report fraud that occurred after she attempted to purchase a vehicle on Facebook Marketplace. The incident was referred to the Detective Division.

5/13/26
At approximately 2:30 pm a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report a check fraud. The incident is under investigation.

At approximately 8:15 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Newtown Gate Drive and Fountain Farm Lane. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody and charged with a weapons violation.

5/14/26
At approximately 10:15 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan SUV operator in the area of Sawmill Lane. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
