Newtown Twp Police Reports: Two Charged for Quad Theft, Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Investigation and More

Newtown Twp Police Reports – Oct 11, 2024 – Oct 17, 2024

10/11/24 – The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 5 trucks were stopped and inspected, and 2 warnings were issued for violations that were found.

10/12/24 –  At approximately 8:45 pm police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township residence for the theft of a quad. As a result of the investigation, the quad was recovered, and two male subjects were taken into custody and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Loitering and Prowling at Night, and Criminal Trespass.

10/13/24 – At approximately 2:15 pm police were dispatched to Lululemon on South Eagle Road for the report of retail theft that had just occurred. As a result of the investigation, two male subjects were taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. $2,283.36 of the stolen merchandise was recovered.

10/14/24 – At 10:35 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

10/16/24 – The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 6 trucks were stopped and inspected, and 1 citation and 3 warnings were issued for violations that were found.

10/16/24 – At approximately 1:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Pontiac sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Liberty Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

10/16/24 – At approximately 5:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Buck Road and Mill Pond Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

10/16/24 – At 12:15 pm police were contacted about the theft of a check. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
