A Penndel man will spend at least two years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing methamphetamine in Montgomery and Bucks counties after a tipster alerted detectives in 2022.

Kennard D. Tucker, 47, of the 700 block of Willow Avenue, Penndel,   was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 2½ to 5 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in connection with multiple drug sales at various locations in Telford and Souderton between January and July of 2022.

Tucker agreed to the “open plea” earlier this summer. The sentence was imposed by Common Pleas Judge Thomas C. Branca.

Tucker became the focus of investigators in early 2022 after Montgomery County detectives received information from an informant Tucker was selling methamphetamine in the Souderton and Telford areas, according to court records.

The informant further assisted investigators by completing “controlled buys” of methamphetamine from Tucker under the supervision of detectives.

Tucker made four sales to the confidential informant in locations around Telford and Souderton, police said.

Montgomery County Detectives, in court records, said video surveillance was used to record the meets with the C.I.

The amounts of methamphetamine purchased from Tucker are consistent with purchases made by individuals who are obtaining methamphetamine for sale and not personal use,” authorities said. Adding on several occasions Tucker offered to provide the informant with larger amounts of methamphetamine than the informant requested. “Your affiants believe this illustrates that Tucker has access to a large amount of methamphetamine that he uses to service his customers and sub-dealers.”
