Blood Drive in Memory of Croydon First Responder to be Held in August

A Bristol Township based memorial fund named in honor of a first responder will be holding its sixth annual blood drive next month.
The Kenneth “Sid” Hopkins Memorial Scholarship Fund will host its sixth annual blood drive on Wednesday, August 3 at the Walter D. Miller Banquet Hall, operated by the Croydon Fire Company from 12 pm to 8 pm.
The Hopkins family and first responders in the area encourage the public to celebrate life by making a difference donating to the blood drive that supports the American Red Cross.

The scholarship fund created in the memory of the former Croydon Firefighter who passed suddenly has helped and supported students seeking careers in emergency and law enforcement services. “Sid” as many of his colleagues and loved ones called him, died six years ago.
Before he passed away, Hopkins dreamed of becoming a paramedic and the scholarship fund and its various community based activities is way of keeping that same dream alive in his memory, and for students seeking to impact their communities by dedicating themselves to first responder careers.
You can streamline your donation experience by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/rapidpass to complete pre-donation forms, besides saving a life with your donation, you will be able to save up to 15 minutes by completing the forms prior to donating.
