District Judge David J. Chichilitti video arraigned Kevin Jones on robbery charges last Thursday March 5 after he was transferred to the custody of Bucks County authorities. Judge Chichilitti set bail at 10 percent of $100,000.00 while Jones is also being held for a state parole violation according to state authorities.

Jones is due to appear in court, on March 17 to answer to the charges.

A violent fugitive from justice wanted by Bristol Borough Police for a reported strong arm robbery at the Rt 13 Sunoco Station was taken into custody by the Philadelphia Police Department and sent to State Correctional Institution (SCI) Chester on a parole violation to detain him.

Kevin L Jones stands accused of violently beating and robbing an older man on Oct. 29 of 2024 at the Sunoco Gas Station on Rt. 13 and Bath Road, just before 9 p.m. Jones managed to avoid the long arm of the law for a little more than 14 months. A warrant for his arrest was filed shortly after the late 2024 incident.

According to online court records, the arrest warrant charges Jones with robbery, strangulation, reckless endangerment and multiple theft counts.

Bristol Borough Chief of Police Joe Moors thanked local and federal authorities for getting Jones off the streets.

“I want to thank our law enforcement partners the Philadelphia Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service for taking a violent individual off the streets.”

Robert Clark Supervisory Deputy United States Marshals Service Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force said he was grateful for Moors acknowledging his team’s investigative work on this case.

Clark confirmed Philadelphia Police made the arrest hours before his team took another fugitive, Laurie Gardner, wanted by Bristol Borough Police into custody.

Clark said Jones had three open cases – state parole violation, Bucks County Sheriff’s Warrant and the Bristol Borough strong arm robbery warrant.

Borough Police, shortly after the robbery, sought two women of interest who more than likely – one inside the A-Plus shop and a second sitting in a vehicle – “acted as a lookouts” during the October 2024 robbery.

Pennsylvania State Prison authorities said Jones was transferred to SCI Chester on Jan 21 of this year from Bucks County Correctional after his arrest in Philadelphia.
