The rumor mongering can now stop as to why a man was seen being led away by Tullytown Police at the site of the reported house explosion Friday night.

Donald William Bottomstone III  of  Maryland, 41, is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault ,one count of reckless endangerment, one count of simple assault and a related offense.

He was arraigned on Saturday morning by Magisterial District Judge Daniel Baranoski setting an unsecured bail.

On Saturday afternoon a high ranking first responder official confirmed for Lower Bucks Source what two additional tipsters said about late Friday night in text message exchanges with this news source.

According to the probable cause, Sgt Andrew Bunda was on scene to assist first responders when he heard loud yelling coming from the Stream Lane home where the reported explosion occurred.  On scene fire personnel requested police assistance because two men were yelling at each other while a fire investigation was taking place.  Bottomstone and Levittown Deputy Fire Chief Flanagan. Police separated the two and tried to keep everyone calm. At that time, Edgely Fire Company Chief Brian Cirard said the suspect punched him in the mouth.  Police, in court records, noted Cirard was bleeding from the lip.

Cirard provided a written statement to police that said Bottomstone III tried to re-enter the home while firefighters were still figuring out what actually happened at the Stream Lane residence. Cirard in his statement said he explained the situation inside the home remained unstable and he couldn’t go back in. Bottomstone allegedly responded, I f**k**g live here and I’m going the f**k inside! Cirard said the suspect became increasingly aggressive all the while trying to slowly but surely work his way back into the damaged residence. As the two men continued to talk, the suspect, according to Cirard,  placed his cell phone across the fire chiefs’ right shoulder while screaming in his face.  Cirard, according to court records, moved the suspects hand off his shoulder. Bottomstone III switched his cell phone to his right hand and punched the fire chief in the face knocking off his glasses while emergency personnel were still investigating the explosion.

His preliminary hearing is tentatively set for August 20 to appear before Judge Terrence Hughes. Bottomstone III has no attorney of record, according to online court records.
