A 37 year-old Philadelphia man wanted by police on burglary charges could have gotten himself at the very least shot when police were attempting to him into custody last Sunday.
Stanley Petroski of Philadelphia, had been identified as suspect in two business burglaries at a Feasterville Laundromat, Lower Southampton Township Police were investigating.
According to police, on September 17 2026 at 2:15 a.m. video surveillance captured Petroski forcing entry into the rear room of Smiley’s Laundromat where he used a metal cutting tool and gained entry into the Bill to bill exchanger where he stole approximately $3,500.00 in US currency.
Prior to gaining entry into the rear room he spray painted the video camera lenses in an attempt to hide his identity, police said.
Approximately 48 hours, Petroski returned to the laundromat, after the business owner cleaned the video surveillance camera lenses which captured him again, where he again forced entry into the rear room where he damaged a second change machine, and stole approximately $4,000.00 in US Currency.
Petroski, according to police, was arrested in 2022 for burglarizing the same laundromat in Feasterville where he actually stole the whole bill to bill exchanger.
Following these two incidents an arrest warrant was issued the would be burglar of two counts each of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, and related offenses.
Lower Southampton Township Police received a tip Petroski was in the area of the Walgreens, walking east along E. Street Road at 9:20 a.m. last Sunday morning (Sept 2o).
Petroski was located in the parking lot of CVS in Feasterville where he was stopped by Lower Southampton Township Police who attempted to take Petroski into custody on the arrest warrant when he resisted and a scuffle ensued, according to the probable cause affidavit
‘During his resisting, Petroski grabbed the officer’s holstered handgun in an attempt to disarm the officer, the criminal complaint alleges. Petroski was stopped from removing the gun from the holster by police, preventing a more serious situation, police said in court papers.
Petroski was then taken into custody and additional charges were filed for attempting to disarm a police and resisting arrest.
Magisterial District Judge Michael W. Petrucci arraigned him on charges from now two cases filed. Petrucci remanded to the custody of Bucks County Correctional 10 percent of $300,00o. on the burglary charges and 1o percent of $250,000.00 on the resisting arrest offenses.
He is due back in court on Sept 30 for preliminary hearings for both cases and as of publication time has no attorney of record.
In Bucks County, Petroski has arrests dating back to 2008, according to a online court records review.
