Bensalem Re-Opens Imaginationland Playground After Rebuilding It

Bensalem held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new and improved Imagination Land playground on Monday morning.

The Imagination Land Playground, located on Hulmeville Road, is a complex that was built and designed specifically for children with special needs but can still be enjoyed by all.

Plans to redevelop the playground kicked off when Rep. K.C Tomlinson (R) announced a grant for $386,300 to redevelop the playground, with funding coming from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ (DCNR) Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP).

Construction on the new playground began on Oct. 6, with the goal to give the playground modern equipment and updated safety surfaces and features.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, and Council President Edward Tokmajian Jr., and member Joseph Knowles.

“This is all brand new.” DiGirolamo told the crowd of parents and kids before the ribbon cutting.

“This has been a long time coming and the weather didn’t work this winter, but we’re ready to go.”

Imagination Land reflects the very best of our community– thoughtful, welcoming, and built for everyone, Tokmajian Jr. said.

“This investment shows what Bensalem is all about. We believe every child deserves a place to play, to feel included and to just be a kid”

Imagination Land Playground can be found next to the Bensalem Public Library on Hulmeville Rd.
