Shir Ami, the heart of Reform Judaism in Bucks County, Newtown Hadassah and Jewish Federation of Philadelphia are pleased to announce a special program featuring CNN Senior Legal Analyst, Elie Honig.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 26 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Shir Ami, 101 Richboro Road, in Newtown. Honig will discuss how family history, Jewish identity and community have shaped his life and work. In addition to Honig’s talk, this event includes brunch, local craft vendors and raffles. Tickets are $80 and there are sponsorships available. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit https://www.shirami.org/event/
In addition to his work on CNN, Honig spent 14 years serving as a federal and state prosecutor. While his professional work has placed him at the center of high-profile legal conversations, the program will focus on the person behind the role. He is the grandson of Holocaust survivors – a grandfather who survived Sachsenhausen, and a grandmother who survived Bergen-Belsen. Honig’s understanding of identity, responsibility, and community were shaped by his grandparents’ stories, resilience, and commitment to family and Jewish life.
The Jewish values of justice, memory, accountability and caring for one another continue to guide Honig’s work and public life. He is respected for his thoughtful, accessible approach and ability to speak with clarity, humility, and heart.
“We are honored to welcome Elie Honig to our community because his personal story reflects so much of what we hold sacred,” stated said Brent Osborne, Executive Director, Shir Ami. “He speaks not only from professional experience, but from a deep sense of Jewish identity, shaped by family, history, and responsibility. Hosting him at Shir Ami, in partnership with Newtown Hadassah and Jewish Federation of Philadelphia is especially meaningful. When organizations come together with shared purpose, we create something stronger than any one of us could do alone. This is what a thriving Jewish community looks like – showing up for one another, sustaining one another, and building connection through collaboration.”
