It was almost two weeks ago Lower Bucks Source discovered Bryan Allen, now former Chief of Staff for State Rep Tina Davis left the job he’s had for about 14.5 years.
Allen announced Sunday evening that he will be running for state representative in Pennsylvania’s 18th House District, which covers Bensalem Township and Hulmeville Borough. Allen will run a campaign focused on providing economic relief and increasing the quality of life for residents of the 18th District, campaign officials said Sunday evening.
He will face off against Republican incumbent K.C. Tomlinson in one of the most competitive legislative elections in Pennsylvania. Tomlinson has held the seat since legislative districts were redrawn, winning seat first in a special election in April of 2020.
“I’ve dedicated my career to making our government work for people, not special interests. I’m running because we deserve a Representative in Harrisburg who will do the same. My priorities are to increase state funding for education and help seniors on fixed incomes, make housing more attainable, expand healthcare access, and stand up for women’s rights.”
Born in Bucks County and raised in Bensalem by his parents, both union members, Allen has spent his career serving the community where he is now raising his own children. On Bensalem Township Council, Allen introduced the first casino tax rebate for residents and worked across the aisle to increase it, put more police officers on the ground, took on big developers to fight urban sprawl, and approved the first fire and emergency training facility in Bucks County.
Working in state government, he has helped to recruit good manufacturing jobs back to Bucks County, increased economic development grants, and worked to expand Medicaid.
Unlike our current Representative, Allen knows real leadership means standing up for what’s right every time, not just when it is politically convenient. He will fight to expand healthcare access, increase the minimum wage, prioritize public education, and relieve the tax burden for working families and retirees.
“Our community is diverse, dynamic, and full of potential,” said Allen, “but we are facing unprecedented economic challenges. I am running to make it easier to live, work, and raise a family here.”
Allen headed Davis’ staff for about 14.5 years. He resigned as her chief of staff around Jan 21 of 2026. State law prohibits individuals from holding a state job and running in a state election.
Before heading Davis’ office, Allen worked as a legislative aide for beloved state Rep. Tony J. Melio for slightly more than nine years before he retired.

Allen is the current Chair of the Bensalem Democratic Organization. He oversaw Bensalem Democrats taking over majorities on the school board and council in last year’s municipal elections.
Democratic sources say since the Democratic Municipal Election sweep in Bucks County’s most populous township have said if there was anytime to take on Tomlinson, now would be it.
Allen also currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Bucks County Water & Sewer Authority Board, and as President of the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center. He is a 2001 graduate of Bloomsburg University and 1996 graduate Conwell-Egan Catholic School. He is a 37-year resident of Bensalem, where he lives with his wife and three school-age children.
