Bristol Borough School Board Approves School Budget, without Tax Increase

The Bristol Borough School District approved a budget of just under $25 million at Monday’s board meeting.

The board voted irs unanimous approval of the spending plan for the 2021-22 academic year without raising taxes officials said.

Its the 11^th straight year there has been no millage increase in the fiscal plan with a 1.13 percent increase over last years budget, School Director Steve Cullen pointed out.

Board President  David Chichilitti  thanked business manager Chris McHugh for doing a  great job prior to the budgets unanimous approval.

School board members also recommended to residents look into to applying for Pennsylvania Homestead Tax Relief, 

The program offers property tax reductions for those who qualify, board members, said savings could range anywhere from $200 to $400 dollars.

The Homestead for this year was $296.00 McHugh said. The program begins accepting applications on March 1 for the following year, McHugh explained.

If you own a property and you’re not signed up, I strongly recommend you do so, School Director, and Treasurer John D’Angelo said.

Otherwise “you’re leaving money on the table” he said.
