Boro Donates $10,000 to Educational & Arts Efforts

Bristol Borough donated funds to two worthy causes at recent council meetings.

May Council presented a $10,000. check to Gene Williams executive director of the Grundy Foundation that will go to support educational programming by the Academic Oversight Committee (AOC).

Williams said councils support of the AOC “insures students attending Bristol Borough Schools will get a leg up with programming supporting and array of efforts that prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow.

South ward councilman Louis Quattrocchi did the honors of presenting the check a representative of Ivin’s Hours, where the the federal grant for Bristol’s 21st Century Learning Programs are coordinated from.

At the he July meeting vice-president of council Betty Rodriguez (west ward) presented a check for $10,000 on behalf of council to the Bristol Riverside Theater General Manager David Abers.

We are so grateful for the continued support and partnership we have with Bristol Borough that allows us to do the many things we do, like our $5 tickets for borough residents to see our shows and helps out work the arts camp we offer also, Abers said.
