The Bristol Borough Board of School Directors accepted the resignation of the districts superintendent Thursday night, as she moves on to take the same position in New Hope-Solebury.
The board approved the resignation of Dr. Rose Minniti, the districts lead administrator who was hired in May of 2019 and replaced then retiring superintendent Tom Shaffer this past week.
Although unspoken, sources contend, Minniti’s resignation was due in large part to the drama that unfolded between her and school board President David Chichilitti in recent months, that Lower Bucks Source has reported on.
Both did not respond to requests for comment on the issue from Lower Bucks Source, recently.
Minniti when hired had a nearly five-year contract running from Aug. 1 to June 30, 2024,with a starting annual salary of $140,000, with increases of 3 percent, subject to performance reviews.
Minniti said she plans to stay on the job until about October 4 “to tie up loose ends,” said officials.
“Rose its been a pleasure working with you. I wish you luck in your new position,” said Chichilitti. ‘
Board members Steve Cullen, Jeff Paleafico and John Ruzin thanked her for her hard work and service to the children and parents of the district.
“I think we’ve found the perfect match,” then Bristol Borough school board President Nunzio DeMarchis said when Minniti was hired.
Of note, DeMarchis resigned board his position officially Thursday night, with no reason given.
“I have spoken with other board members. We have a few options available in filling that position. I will be able to give you more information at out next meeting” said Chichilitti.

For the last several years I have seen Dr. Minniti “In Action” as the Assistant Superintendent of the New Hope Solebury School District. This District operated very well underc Superintendent Raymond Buccuti when its enrollment was 1,592.When it shrunk to the mid 1300’s under Superintendent Dr. Charles Lentz, the school board sent out a SOS for reinforcements – Dr. Minniti to the rescue. At a school board meeting I with 40 years of teaching in the inner city of NYC stated, keep her and get rid of him -Dr. Lentz.
