Bucks County Community College (BCCC) proudly announces ‘Bucks WestDoc Live, a new monthly documentary series that features prestigious producers and directors discussing the filmmaking process.
Produced in partnership with Academy Award–nominated filmmaker Chuck Braverman, creator of the acclaimed WESTDOC platform, and accomplished producer/director Peter LeDonne, the dynamic monthly series features live Q&A after
each screening with the creators.
“The best documentary films and their creators from around the world come to Newtown in this new series,” said Peter Chiovarou, the director of community programming and college events. “We’re thrilled that the Zlock Performing Arts Center is the new East Coast home of WESTDOC.”
The series begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 19, with a screening of “Classroom 4” hosted in-person by LeDonne and featuring a guest appearance by director/producer Eden Wurmfeld.
Executive produced by Edward Norton, “Classroom 4” follows Professor Reiko Hillyer teaching “The History of Crime and Punishment” inside a prison to undergraduates from Lewis & Clark College and incarcerated adults at Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland, Oregon. The film follows the students and professor over an entire semester, letting the audience experience how the shared education changes all the students and their professor.
