A young angler’s considerate gesture towards a six-year-old boy at Lake Afton in Yardley set social media ablaze with “kindness,” beginning Thursday.

As posted on the Yardley Borough PA page by Sarah Jean  her son was the recipient of the generous act.

“Hey mamas! If this is your son, you should know he made a big impact today,” Sarah Jean wrote in the post.

“My six-year-old son and I were at Lake Afton feeding the ducks around 11:30 when an older boy who was fishing with his friends noticed my son watching. He invited him over, let him try fishing, and patiently showed him how to reel in the line and cast.”

The young angler, named Ryder, according to commenters on the post, simply asked “Hey, you wanna try?”

It was such a sweet interaction and absolutely made my son’s day, Sarah Jean said.

“He really looks up to older kids, and this young man set a wonderful example of kindness and inclusion. As a teacher, I know how moments like that stick with little ones,” she added.

“I’m sure it didn’t seem like a big deal to him, but it’s the little things that make the biggest impact not just on kids like my son, but the whole community. Way to go Ryder! I’m sure we’ll see you there again!” Sarah Jean added.

The post lit up the Yardley focused Meta page with some saying news reports/stories should be focused more on the positive aspects and happenings taking place.

We agree!
