In the future, when feeling nostalgic or a need to “remember the good ole days” the storm that buried the Lower end of Bucks County might be referred to as the ‘Blizzard of 2026.”
Or not.
It was only several weeks ago that the lower end of the county was digging itself out from a reported nine inches of snow fall.
Snow totals for this time around in some places like Fairless Hills doubled that number reporting 18 inches of snow on the ground, according to the National Weather Service- Mt Holly- Philadelphia.
The totals are preliminary, NWS says with expected updates to come in over the next 12 to 24 hours.
‘The heavy snowfall, NWS says, could lead to very difficult to impossible travel conditions. Snowfall has been falling at up to 1” per hour are possible through mid morning. Blowing and drifting of snow possible.
Winds gusting up to 40 mph.
As an aside please check in on neighbors with ambulatory issues who also have four legged furry friends to see if they need any help or support.
Please keep in mind the Commonwealth reduced speed limits on major highways earlier.
In addition, vehicle restrictions also went into effect at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, in accordance with Tier 4 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan.
The worst of the storm will taper off for the Lower Bucks County area by lunch time Monday with the dig out already in process.
