Crushing Heat and Humidity to hit Lower Bucks

After an evening of thunderstorms that cooled of the area some, excessive and potentially dangerous heat comes to the Lower Bucks area beginning Wednesday, forecasters say.
The excessive heat wave starts today and will persist until Friday with heat index values of 100-110° expected during the afternoon hours with little relief at night.
Thursday is still expected to be the most oppressive day.
If you must spend extended periods of time outdoors, wear light clothing, take frequent breaks, and drink plenty of water. Check on your friends, family, and neighbors who may be susceptible to heat illnesses, especially if they do not have air conditioning.
In advance of the heat wave Bristol Township on Tuesday announced the senior center located at 2501 Bath Road, Bristol, will open as a cooling center during the following dates/times:
Wednesday, 8/11, 10 am-6 pm
Thursday 8/12, 8:30 am-6 pm
Friday 8/13, 8:30 am-6 pm
